Youth Tour to Washington D.C.
Each summer Daviess-Martin REMC and other electric cooperatives sponsor the Rural Electric Cooperative's Youth Tour to Washington D.C. Students who are in their junior year of high school are chosen to attend this week-long tour of our nation's capital.
This action-packed trip gives students the opportunity to visit national monuments, museums and memorials, as well as learn more about cooperative business and state and national government.
The 2019 trip will be June 13-20, starting with an afternoon in Indianapolis for a tour of the state capitol building. Later the students will visit Gettysburg for a tour of the historical battlefield. Students will also visit the Arlington National Cemetery, the Smithsonian Museum, the National Cathedral in D.C. and attend a rally for all Youth Tour delegates from across the nation. There is a dinner cruise on the Potomac River and an all-states dance at the conclusion of the tour. Learn more about the National Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour.
Deadline to apply is March 4, 2019. Visit the Indiana's Electric Cooperatives website to submit your application online. (After you follow the link, scroll down to the bottom of the page to fill out the application.)
