The Power Restoration Process

Restoring power after a major outage is a big job that involves much more than simply throwing a switch or removing a tree from a line. The main goal is to restore power safely to the greatest number of members in the shortest possible time.

01

Step One

First, we check the overall system and repair damage to substations and high-voltage lines.

02

Step Two

Next, we restore power to critical services such as hospitals, police, fire, water and communication systems.

03

Step Three

We make repairs that will return service to the largest amount of customers in the least amount of time.

04

Step Four

Finally, we restore power to smaller neighborhoods and individual members. The final step sometimes takes the longest, as we locate and repair isolated problems.
